As much as I'd like to receive a copy of whatever LS is going to distribute, it'd possibly be better if all 22 go to new potential followers with new ideas from fresh brains. And honestly, though another physical artifact would be downright awesome (like medallions, kits, etc), the information will be shared once one of the books is received and scanned.
But, if he is planning on distributing amongst current followers, does anyone have an idea of the significance of 22? It's not the number of people in the introductions thread. It's not the number of registered users. Could it correlate with the number of unique chat users? I think there's been more than that. Is there a particular tumblr post that was liked by 22 people? Maybe FTS related posts that have been reblogged by 22 different people?
I know it's all just speculation and we'll find out soon enough. But I thought it'd be nice to puzzle over something a little different for once. (Though kaylen has me off on a goose chase right now with her off-hand reference to discovery as it regards to lawyerly proceedings.)
How about you guys? Do you hope that a copy of the book comes to you or would you rather see the copies of it spark new interests elsewhere and bring in fresh blood?

Oh my god Jed you saw me musing about law last night? Haha. It was my attempt at finding a different direction to look at. Glad someone's giving it a go though.
As for 22, not quite sure. It's not a prime number, since 2 and 11 can go into it. There may have been 22 of us in the channel at some point, but it must have been a long while ago. Of course, with the 11th breath line, 22 is twice that number.
There's also 22 cards in the major arcana of tarot cards. There's 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet. And according to Wikipedia, in the Kabbalah, there are 22 paths between the Sephirot.

well, i do agree that fresh brains might be a more productive way to go with the books, but i also think it could re-inspire some "old" brains to get cracking again. i'll admit that i was also curious about the 22, and did a cursory glace of registered users and intro posts to see if there was an obvious connection, but found none either. since i'm one of the (few?) ftsers with no physical artifacts (since i came after the kickstarter and etsy, and haven't "won" anything from reblogs or minecraft or whatever), i'll also admit that it would be kinda neat-o to have one, but that's by no means anywhere close to my main priority of being part of this thing. my fear is that if the 22 go entirely to fresh blood, that it would possibly play out similarly to how the burned pictures in the kits did- people who lost interest (or don't have an interest in getting "caught up" or finding out about fts at all (like the still unaccounted-for "out in the open" kits from the beginning)) wouldn't scan/post/share the information. yet, i do totally see the benefit of having some new grey/white matter to puzzle over everything. so i'm kinda torn on all that. but WHO the 22 are? good question. no insight about that from me. EDIT: i'm going to laugh when 22 of us have to submit the same "correct" answer at the door before it opens, and then we get books and chapter 2 starts and whatever. EDIT2: LS is in los angeles, right?! so maybe we all have to dance and sing this song to get in the door. there's, like, totally about 22 of these dudes lined up. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pM2OK_JaJ9I

Sorry, what are we referring to, guys? Is LS talking to us again? I'm so out of touch. Do I even bother asking for him to send me something, given my history? Yes, he's talking about FTS anyway. The 22 is in reference to this Instagram post of his - luckyshirt.tumblr.com/post/71772404933/i-spent-the-morning-in-this-ocean-that-holds-myWith the pertinent part being The story is still very much moving forward, though its fans have been stalled solving a poem that has so far trapped them in the Library of Congress after M vanished. But I am confident they will find their way out and to the next clue, and end Chapter One soon enough. Chapter Two is coming, and everything will change. The first of the Starlight books will go out to 22 people, and we will move closer to finding out just what the hell this is all about.

This is exciting! I'm torn too, on if it'd be better to go to fresh blood or those who have stuck around. Maybe half and half? XD
I haven't been in the chat lately (it was killing my productivity), but I'm always lurking here on the message boards, so thanks for sharing this update!

So, I found reading the log that during some unrelated late-night / early-morn brainstorming, Kaylen counted the match heads that are out of the bottle in M's last communique - 22.
So, does that number have some true, pre-existing significance? Everything seems to be deliberate with M, so I would say yes. But the question would still remain, what significance? Or, why is it significant?

I don't know how many of us are "active" (eg, the group that had been meeting in chat regularly until mid-October; I know a lot of us have been absent over the past 2 months, myself included), but I am mostly certain there are fewer than 22 of us. Considering M gave kits to friends (who haven't posted to tumblr?), maybe some of those people would also get copies of this book. Also, with how few kickstarter backers were active, how will M find "new blood" that will stick with it? For the "everything will change" note, I'm wondering what will change and how. I hope we don't have deadlines to solve puzzles. I want to use our medallions and keys. I want to know about the owl on the pouches. (I also want an image file, so I can embroider it.) If 22 is to be a recurring theme, here are some wiki articles: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/22_%28number%29en.wikipedia.org/wiki/22_%28numerology%29

The owl on the pouches is the letter M in Egyptian hieroglyphs.

I've been trying to make something out of M's last message... By squinting and looking at it from far away, the shape the objects are placed in does sort of resemble the letter K, which is the 11th in the alphabet.

I'm wondering if this part is a hint that we're to leave the LoC entirely(meaning all three buildings). Maybe the hole leads us to The Capitol building.

i've been thinking something similar about the "find their way out" comment. i mean, we did go from florida to dc, so the "next clue" could be anywhere. i'm even thinking it might not be in dc at all, but either way it seems we definitely need to get out of the loc somehow.
EDIT: oops, we might totally be threadjacking. my bad.
