We know the name of the next chapter!
Near and Far
The side bar on the main site was updated:
Now Chapter One: Spark and Smoke has ended. In this chapter, mysterious boxes were shipped and hidden around the world, and those who were inclined to do so used what was in those boxes to find a rock and open very important door. The details of that search are coming soon.
Now begins Chapter Two: Near and Far.

oh great. so i am not invited and cannot participate in this "protected" "new world" because i do not have a minecraft username. i am disappointed and surprised luckyshirt decided on this route, because i know i am not the only one. i had assumed curiosity, openness, willingness, and dedication would have been prioritised criteria, rather than access to a specific online game. i must have misunderstood, but I remember reading that anyone was welcome and able to participate in find the starlight. i believe today has been the most sad time for me ever reading a chat log. i had previously experienced confusion, excitement, amusement, frustration, joy, amazement, and a wonderful camaraderie, but nothing close to a sadness like this. maybe i wasn't bullied enough as a kid, but the feeling of being openly and intentionally excluded sucks. i am aware that i will not change his mind or the path of fts, but i don't feel right saying goodbye yet, either.

Am I wrong in believing the world is just a mine craft world now i.e: no fts importance?

There's nothing new with the world. It's just around for the sake of archive I suppose. Jed and I both went and took a look at it when it was brought back online, and I'm inclined to believe it was only mentioned because I had previously sent an ask saying it had gone down and I was sad because I still enjoyed messing around on the server.
EDIT: Oh shit!? M was in the chat yesterday??? Well hot damn, I guess there's more to be done in Minecraft.

Exic,
I was so excited to see M back last night and how it sounded like he was going to put SOMETHING in MC. It didn't sound to me like it was going to be the thrust of FTS for chapter 2 at all, just an aside that he had heard our requests for protection from griefers (a whitelist) and hence was asking for usernames.
I was so excited that I totally did not think about how that may be perceived by one without an account. I hear your frustration and it stinks to feel that way. But I honestly don't think M would even unintentionally exclude anyone from his story. He left this avenue (of many) open for further "fun." He's said a few times that there are plenty of opportunities to be a part of this and in many different media. But I'd probably feel the same way if there was something I couldn't access. I get frustrated when things happen in chat that I miss. (Like M, by 15 seconds.)
I'll tell you what - I will gladly set up anyone who doesn't have an account and wants one - that has logged into the chat in the last month (I have to draw the line somewhere, this will keep it to the core folks who have stuck with FTS this long) - with an MC account if they would like to see the carnage. It's worth the cost to me if it can assuage even some of the negative feelings the reopening of the world has created.
I'll need PM's with preferred usernames and emails and such OR if preferred, a paypal account I can send the money to in order to cover the cost of you setting it up yourself. OR if you'd only want your mailing address known and no other personal details, I'll mail a gift card for Mojang.
Let me know.
EDIT: I'm not backing out, the above offer still stands for anyone of you that want to take advantage of it, but I think I'll just coordinate with chak and set up a communal account that anyone (that we all trust anyway) can share.
