So I decided that since a lot of people aren't able to visit the server, and my laptop is too lousy to stream, I'd make a picture log of the server. Here's where you'll find any screenshots I take be it something silly or something important. I'll do my best to describe each of the pictures too, for those unfamiliar with how Minecraft works.

The monolith. On the first day, this was a tree and in the middle was a book. But due to unfortunate occurrences, things were lost. The headquarters. It's simple, but effective. Inside resides the painting M used to tell us about holding the pictures over a flame. The cows are a gift from M after I asked for milk to bake a cake. The shrine. An apology letter of sorts to M. Jedpeter made it. Signs are posted on the wall by individual players that visit and want to apologize for what happened on the first day.

A few odds and ends: A home on the side of a sand hill near the monolith. The sign hanging above it asks politely not to enter, so Jed nor I have. The cake I baked for M and left inside the shrine. I left him cookies before this. I'm no stranger to this sight. I tend to leave him alone while he works though.

The room. There's a couple pictures of what it looked like before this in the general Minecraft thread. This is its most recent addition.

I went on a quest to find chickens and sheep. I stumbled upon this really pretty sight. I think my picture is broken. Nothing shows up when I hold it over a flame. :P

Those of you that play are aware of the chunk loading glitch that you'll occasionally get where you'll see under and around random patches of ground that have not loaded. Well, I had an interesting one today. I've been playing quite a bit lately, trying to get portals to go on top of or inside of the monolith (I'd wondered if it was solid or if M took the easier route of building a cage for the Tree rather than destroying it.) Well, I've got one that's about 15 blocks below the monolith now that can't be destroyed or deactivated in order to try again for a shot INTO the monolith (unless I can somehow drag a creeper all the way to it). Maybe something with the portals made this happen (one portal near the monolith actually made some previously indestructible sand blocks in the spawn radius destructible), or maybe because he used bedrock for the monolith and that's normally a "basement" layer type block, but I got the interesting glitch seen in the pictures. After the first pic, I was literally holding my breath, hoping to see more but knowing from experience it wouldn't last long and eventually the chunk would load. When I got closer (instead of strafing laterally around it), it did load and no more peek inside. It makes me wonder what's going on inside of the bedrock room on The Hill now. It looks like he meant to preserve the Tree. Putting it in a cage with rings of glowstone around it. I don't know that much about the lighting requirements, but it looks like the base of the tree was destroyed anyway on that first day, so even if the light was enough, the tree looks pretty dead to me, though vines are still hanging off of it. I know, I know, most of you are totally done with MC, and even M said we needed to leave that world. But it's interesting to me. It presents a challenge that I'm better at than the current puzzle with Discovery.

So on a whim I went to visit M's room on the hill. Sounds like there's a Nether portal inside and a lot of fire. Jed, this your doing or is it something left from M?

Me. There was nothing but two torches inside in the middle of the room. I left him a note, as well as a map of the Garden. And some steak . I also lit it with some nether rack in each corner to prevent mob spawns.

Okay, that's good to know. You scared the crap out of me because when I went to visit the room all I heard was fire and creepy portal sounds.

So, the MC server, comments about it and such have become such a household name around here that my kids will ask "Are you on Uncle Brad's, our's or Professor M's server?" And I'll hear them on their iOS devices arguing about whether they want a new "water wall" or mandating that someone not cross the "lava wall" that's been put in place. It's funny what they've picked up on.
