I would like to see images of all of the letters found in the lining of boxes so that others may see them and then check their own.
My post on tumblr today was based on a scant memory. Have I read that people have found G, L, and S?
I've only seen an image with an L.
But, after looking at a schmillion different images of alchemical equations and drawings, I've learned that sand + fire = glass.
When I saw the G, L, and S it occurred to me that it may be worth noting.
Carry on~

I have A163, which has an "L" in the lining.

A question/ observation I had about the lining letters- Are they only in tin linings of the kits acquired through the Kickstarter campaign? I bought one from the online shop, and thought I saw what might have been a faint pencil marked "I", but after comparing it with the posted pictures I am pretty sure it is just part of the fibers that make up the lining. The one I bought also came with a bible page, as soon as I scan it I will provide the link, and the rest of the info from my trinkets for everyone.

Are there any other pictures for the other letters? Are we sure they're actual letters and not symbols/runes disguised as letters?

I saw one of the "R"s on Tumblr here: subjectoftowels.tumblr.com/post/61691695309/thestarlightkeyhole-something-exciting-and (I reblogged it). That one, to me, would definitely need to be an "R". But it's worth noting, maybe, that it's written to be read upside-down (meaning you wouldn't have to turn the tin to read it), whereas the "L" in my kit is not. So perhaps mine is a 7?ETA: Nope, sorry, I got too excited. Both letters are facing the same way. You would have to flip the tin upside-down for them to read "R" and "L" in the correct direction.

I can tell you that my box wad part of the kickstarter campaign. I have kit a156. I posted pics on my Tumblr merfology.tumblr.com
I have the capital letter G. Which interestingly enough is the first letter of the state of Georgia. My key says Watkinsville, which is in GA and the photo is marked "Clear Lake" which is also in GA. (All pics on my blog). Don't know if deliberate but there it is.

I am thinking that we need to pay more attention to the bible pages and kits acquired through Kickstarter than the ones bought in the Etsy shop, such as mine. (I couldn't help it, I felt that I would never forgive myself if I didn't seize the opportunity to snag one.) Bruce got a pencil mark over a b and a D on his bible page, and his key says 2D. In a simple substitution 2=b tumblr.thebruce.net/post/61709279779/professor-mercury-has-come-through-i-receivedIt could be simply coincidence, but it might be worth looking into if other people had similar synchronicities within their packages. Are YOU in Georgia, Merfology?

I have kit A116. I didn't even notice until today that there is an "L" written on the insert in my kit. I also received the 6 of clubs. On my bible page in the paragraph numbered 6, there is an italicized "L" followed by the word, "deliver". I'm wondering if this works out for anyone else with a card, letter, and bible page, or if it's a coincidence.
I posted pictures of the whole kit, including the L, at mapledidit.tumblr.com

In A163 I also have an "L" in my lining and I received the 8 of clubs. None of the 8 verses on my page have the italicized "L" in them. (Those italicized letters appear for the most part to refer to other chapters and verses if you look in the margin.) I also attempted to line some of the medallion holes up with either the "8"s or italicized "L"s, but that also didn't seem to reveal anything. :/ Still, I think this is something everyone should check out!

i'm short on time right now, but just thought of something. i only looked/scrolled through enough to find three instances so far, but i'll look for more later or maybe someone can just prove me wrong if there's a kit that doesn't match up. S=hearts L=clubs ... do these fit with all the kits? do the G and R consistently go with any suits? also, can we match the letters to earth/fire/water/air? i found this, and maybe it could help (the correspondence table) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suit_(cards)#Correspondence_tableEDIT: aaand my dumbass just remembered there are spreadsheets for this... okay, G=spades, from one i see there. don't know if any R matches with diamonds. wish there was more to match up, and i have no idea what it may mean, but there we go. hearts=water, diamonds=earth, clubs=fire, and spades=air, but i'm not sure where/how/if the letters match up with that. (why it matters or what it means)

This is an interesting theory, and I'd like to see if it holds, although I know not all the kits seem to have letters in the lining.

i've noticed not all of the kits have letters in the lining. has anyone figured out if ONLY the kickstarter kits have letters, whereas the etsy ones do not? (though that doesn't necessarily have to do with the letter=suit=element theory)
edit: also, i was trying to think of things where if "some kits go missing, it won't matter"... considering there are repeats with cards/letters so far (even though it easily may not hold up), maybe this is one of the things that is important as some "clue" but we wouldn't need every single kit for.
