In the Jayhawk thread (findthestarlight.freeforums.net/thread/18/jayhawk-california), Kaylen noted that "Ethel Brown" was buried in Jayhawk Cemetary (www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSsr=41&GScid=8083&GRid=27454575&). Merfology's photo (http://merfology.tumblr.com/post/61020453587/ok-my-package-from-m-i-was-very-excited-and) featured a couple, "Martin and Ethel Brown". According to the FindAGrave page, the man buried next to Ethel is Raymond Brown, who I assume to be her husband. Martin is not listed among their children, so he could be a brother-in-law or cousin of Raymond.
So why "The Brown family" as a whole new thread? I noticed that itsyay's photo (itisyay.tumblr.com/post/60426709492/find-the-starlight-treasures) features "Stan and Chris Brown". Same surname, and gee "Stan" sounds familiar. Well, the photo of "Martin and Ethel" includes the caption "Stan's birthday". What if Stan Brown is related to Ethel Brown? She could be his aunt, and Martin could be Stan's father.
Other than powerllama's photo (powerllama.tumblr.com/post/60398197456/my-alchemy-starter-set-came-in-the-mail-today-and) with Chet and Elsie, the rest of the photos don't have names written on them. The captioned photos are dated around similar times, so it seems like these photos could've come from one source - a single family album. (Plus the red ink handwriting on the back of the "Chet and Elsie" photo matches the green ink handwriting on the back of the "Stan and Chris" photo.) There's a chance that Stan is still alive and the child we're looking for is Stan's child.
I don't think tracking down Stan and/or his child(ren) should be our next step, especially in the likelyhood that they are not related to the story and are just regular people. We'll just keep them in mind for now, save them for later. As I said in the Jayhawk thread, I think visiting Ethel's gravesite would be a good idea. One photo on FindAGrave says she's near the east fence (www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pv&GRid=27454575&PIpi=11145672). There could be a clue to finding the Orange Key there, though I don't think the key itself is there.
